Magazine Cover
What helped me most on my journey was probably my technical ability and being able to make something good from scratch. My photoshop skills is 100% my strong point in media and carries me to success every time. I also think my decision making was good, I didn't want to pack out my magazine cover I wanted to make it look more chill. I also think this project was easier to complete as I have just completed the NHS one so I was following the same steps and referring back to that for help.
Importance of planning
It is so important to plan your projects and this was proven very heavily in this project. It was very much a final rush to complete in the end. I was rather fortunate to do a little bit of work whilst doing the NHS project and if I didn't I would have really struggled to complete this. It was also a huge rush to get photos taken in the end as all were taken in the space of a week. It contrasts to the last project where I feel I had a bit more time to be spontaneous where as what I learned this time around is that some projects you can't do that. This was definitely one of the biggest lessons I will take on upcoming projects.
Importance of experimenting
It's always important to experiment with things in a project because if you don't you will be stuck looking at a blank photoshop document for the rest of eternity. I was rather fortunate as I had a clear cut plan of what I wanted to do straight away for these adverts. When it came to editing I always experiment with different filters and different techniques as just as important to get it wrong as it is to get it right. Experimenting is also my favourite thing to do because some things can look really cool when you play about for a bit.

Importance of feedback
It's important to receive feedback as it's what makes and breaks a product. You need to hear from your audience as they are the one the product is aimed at. It's also equally as important to hear from your peers and tutor for help. This is especially important in the production stage as your peers are the one who are next to you telling you whether something looks good or not. It's always important to take into account what they are saying as whether it is useful what they are saying or it's not, It still betters your product in every way.
Print Advert
Importance of planning
As for the print advert, there wasn't much planning to it, I obviously had the flat plan but I just had this vague idea in my mind of how I wanted it to look. It turned out exactly how I wanted. I had to plan a day for Roseberry Topping where it wasn't ridiculously windy so I didn't get blown off the mountain. For the shots of the camera I just did that on the day of editing as it was a very easy shot to get. It went very smoothly in terms of the print advert, but sometimes, without planning it can go horribly wrong.
Importance of experimenting
I experimented quite a bit with the print advert. I took many different angles of the camera shot and I whittled it down to a few options when it came to choosing which one to use. I also experimented heavily with the lighting of the image. I didn't really know whether I wanted to use a studio light or not because I thought it was far too bright and didn't really give it too much shadow. In the end I got a projector light and shone it on the camera and it looks great. I also of course experimented with loads of different filters on the image. I know I wanted to have a vintage feel to this image so using the projector light and adding the warming filter on photoshop creates that effect wonderfully.
