Pre Production - Canon

 Pre Production

This is my flat plan for the magazine cover. I have tried to do something more outside of the codes and conventions compared to the normal magazine cover which is jam-packed with information. So I've decided to go with a more practical design but also something that gets straight to the point. The plan is to take photos at Seaham Beach to show some beautiful scenery and to show how the camera captures it. The shot will be a medium shot which captures both my model and the beach/cliff behind them. I will also add the logo at the top of the cover with a slogan to show the brand I am making it for. I have also chosen the beach as the location as it is a cost free place to have your journey. It will also not cost me anything to take photos at the beach as it is a public location. For the text of the magazine cover, I am going to chose many different colours that will contrast with the colours of the initial image. These will be colours like bright red, bright green and bright purple. My slogan will say 'Above and Beyond' to show that you can take your journey to the max. I am trying to promote the campaign of journeys as much as possible so it is important to include something about journeys in there so I am going to add a little segment about the new campaign in there.

I want my magazine cover to link to past canon products. I like the power dynamics in this advert and I want to play on the idea of that in my magazine cover. I am however going to change it slightly so that the model is more in shot than the nature. I am doing this to refer to nature still as a beast, but one that can be tamed. I also like the idea of a vast open land rather than a confined space to show how far the journey can go. I want to incorporate that as I feel it leaves imagination in young people's minds to decide what route they take on their journey.

Print Advert

In this advert I am going to take a photo of a Canon camera with a Canon camera that shows a reflection. Then I am going to Rosebery Topping to take some photos of the scenery and edit the photos of the scenery onto the lens. I am following the codes and conventions as it is similar to a past Canon product. It fits with the social grade as Rosebery Topping is a free destination that would be easily accessible by public transport. Succeeds can use Rosebery Topping as it is an achievement to get right to the top. The explorers will be able to explore what Rosebery Topping has to offer in terms of adventure. The shot of the camera will be a close up and the shot of Rosebery Topping will be an establishing shot.

I wanted to base my advert off this past canon advert. I like it because it shows what the lens does whilst also showing the product. The image is inspirational and inspires people to take photos. It is quite similar to the image I will be taking as it shows the scenery whilst also showing a smaller focal point being the model.
